Lake County's soils vary, in general we typically encounter one to four feet of silt loam or clay loam over weathered bedrock. Not the most ideal ground type for conventional systems. Because of this, ESS has installed over 100 alternative treatment systems throughout the county, ESS has extensive experience working in Lake County, and we are working directly with the Health Department to establish long term uniform standards that will be beneficial to the Health Department, the homeowners and the environment.
NEWS AND EVENTS
Like most other counties in the state, the Lake County Health Department, is having difficulties managing the use of alternative treatment systems by homeowners once new home developments are finalized, homes are sold, or operation and maintenance (O&M) contracts expire. The Health Department has sucessfullly mandated that homes in Lake County that have alternative treatment systems must be recorded at the Lake County recorders office. This is a very positive step toward making sure that these systems are responsibly maintained by homeowners.
