About Us

While working together on development projects throughout California, Blue Miller (contractor) and Kim Clark (developer) saw a growing demand for better ways to treat residential and commercial wastewater.

Blue and Kim founded ESS to provide quality wastewater treatment for site conditions that preclude the use of conventional septic tanks and drain fields. ESS uses proven methods of aerobic treatment that were originally developed for municipal wastewater treatment plants and designs them for private use.  We are extremely proud to be able to introduce these systems,  they are relatively inexpensive, easy to maintain and yet provide a very high level of protection for California's limited groundwater resources. ESS is the premier alternative septic design/build firm servicing Lake county, Napa County Sonoma County, Mendocino County and Marin County.
